The genre's dubstep, and it's getting fucking huge. This particular album, FabricLive37, is one in a series of mixes put out by various artists brought in by Fabric, a really premier-type nightclub in London, England. This particular FabricLive is the epitome of London dubstep, and is already sort of old, in terms of where the genre's at, but I still find it rockin'. I don't really feel like it gets started until track 4 or 5, but it's a decent intro. For those of you unfamiliar with dubstep, here's a live example:</div><div><br /></div><object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xx6eHU7agKM&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xx6eHU7agKM&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object><br /><div><br /></div><div>so basically, mix that into about an hour-long dubstep sesh and you have <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/yn4zgnji1zo/FabricLive37.zip">this</a>.</div>lorenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06557790919469192209noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2599275841451471425.post-21069975988689680842010-02-14T17:37:00.001-08:002010-02-14T18:34:45.916-08:0019/Juke - "Soundtrack" - 1982<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.discogs.com/image/R-1567759-1256394153.jpeg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 370px;" src="http://www.discogs.com/image/R-1567759-1256394153.jpeg" border="0" alt="" /></a><b>19/Juke - "Soundtrack", 1982</b><div>This gem, gotten from <a href="http://mutant-sounds.blogspot.com/2007/03/juke19-1978-1982-5xcd-boxset-1996-japan.html">Mutant Sounds</a>, is a serious psych-out session for the noisy at heart. It's not a harsh noise album, but actually kind of ambient rock-y at times. I've honestly never listened to music that approaches this album, or else I'd give you some comparisons. It's a beautiful album with lots of variety and fun!</div><div><br /></div><div>get it <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?ttkhnydrkwq">here</a></div><div><br /></div><div>an example:</div><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Ou9f99dP9Zo&hl=en_US&fs=1&"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Ou9f99dP9Zo&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>lorenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06557790919469192209noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2599275841451471425.post-41356021025574038932010-02-14T17:06:00.000-08:002010-02-14T17:15:36.842-08:00Ariel Pink Drone Interview<object id="mySWFid" name="mySWFid" width="512" height="288"><param name="movie" value="http://www.the-drone.com/magazine/wp-content/themes/default-drone/swf/dronePlayer.swf?id=2350&RACINE=http://www.the-drone.com/magazine/wp-content/themes/default-drone/&isBloged=true&autoStart=false"><param name="menu" value="false"><param name="wmode" value="opaque"> <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000"> <param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"> <embed src="http://www.the-drone.com/magazine/wp-content/themes/default-drone/swf/dronePlayer.swf?id=2350&RACINE=http://www.the-drone.com/magazine/wp-content/themes/default-drone/&isBloged=true&autoStart=false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" wmode="opaque" bgcolor="#000000" width="512" height="288" menu="false"></embed></object><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande'; font-size: 11px; white-space: pre-wrap; "><br /></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande'; font-size: 11px; white-space: pre-wrap; ">If you've been a fan of Ariel Pink for quite some time, this interview will tickle your fancy. The vocals on this track are impeccable, as is the music. And the video aesthetics add a (relatively) trippy element to the already out-there song.
